How much carbon have you lost since January?

In January Greenlands held our kick-off event at Foothill Elementary and launched the Carbon Loser Contest. It’s not too late to enter! All you need to do is track your Xcel utility bills over the year and compare your monthly kilowatt hours and gas therms used with the numbers for 2007.

As you implement energy saving suggestions, you will notice your useage going down. Granted there are many variables and this is a friendly competition. The real prize is your lower utility bills, but next January we will recognize participants in many different categories — such as large families, small families, older homes, new construction, innovative energy saving ideas, etc.
