RTD Proposed Route Changes!!
Wednesday, September 28th, 2011RTD is proposing service changes – of special concern is the SKIP. Please visit the web site http://www.rtd-denver.com/proposedservicechanges-jan2012.shtml, attend the meeting, and comment by October 14 in one of the ways listed below.
Boulder meeting:
Monday October 3rd 7pm
East Boulder Senior Center
5660 Sioux Drive
Comment:
- E-mail RTD at: service.changes@rtd-denver.com.
- Look up and Cc: the RTD Director for your home district: http://www.rtd-denver.com/BoardDirectors.shtml
- Fax your comments to 303.299.2227.
Summary of proposed changes:
RTD will be holding twenty-three public hearings in the next two weeks to explain its proposals and take input on them. With its plan to cut $12 million from current services, RTD reports that it is seeking to establish a baseline, more predictable level of service that can be funded long-term. The proposed service changes outlined are intended to help RTD meet that objective.
RTD proposes to cut back rush hour service on the SKIP, 209, HX and S and to cut the 225 service on Baseline between Boulder and Lafayette in half. The 209 service between the Meadows Shopping Center and campus would be reduced to 30 minutes most of the day, with a reduction in rush hour service levels.
RTD would discontinue altogether routes 203 to the East Boulder Rec Center (diverting the 225 to do this hourly); discontinue the DD to Colorado in Denver (CU’s Medical Center and DU), the BX to Denver on Saturdays and would cut AM and PM runs on the 204, 206 and 208, also cutting out Saturday evening 205 service.
The mid-day JUMP service to and from Erie would be discontinued and the mid-day BOLT service to and from Longmont would be reduced to hourly. Both the BOLT and J routes to Longmont would be shortened, eliminating service on 21st and on Hover.
The GS to Golden would get minor adjustments; the STAMPEDE would be re-routed to better serve campus growth on east Colorado, maintaining current service levels; the T to the Tech Center would be re routed. The DASH to Louisville and Lafayette would get added AM and PM service as would the DM to Anschutz/Fitzsimons.
