Hi all!
We have created a Yahoo Group for Newlands Neighbors! This group is for Newlands Neighbors to share information and stay up to date on neighborhood events and news. This will replace The Newlands Neigbors newsletter that used to be passed out.
Some ways we can use this group for is to share news about:
- wildlife sightings,
- community events such as Music in the Park, Home Tour, Progressive Dinner and the Sleigh Ride
- Break-ins and safety
- Green events
- And anything else YOU think is important!
Please take the time to join so we can communicate with each other.(Newlands is defined by Alpine, 3rd Street, Iris and Broadway)
You DO need to create a free account with Yahoo to be on the group, but you DO NOT need to use Yahoo email. In the directions below, you’ll see that you can forward the emails to any email you want.
How do you join?First: sign up for Yahoo! There is a button to click on www.yahoo.com, and you follow the directions. I think it is fairly straightforward.
Then, for the groups:
> Go to Yahoo.
> Click on Groups.
> In the search field, type in ‘Newlands News’.
> Click on the Group that comes up – Newlands Boulder.
> Click on ‘Join this Group.’
The Group Moderator will confirm you are a member. Under settings or under ‘edit membership’, be sure to select ‘Daily Digest’ to receive only one email a day. If you want to receive emails as they are sent, do not select this. Given that we are a new group, there probably won’t be many emails.
Also under ‘edit membership’, you can add a new email address, so you don’t have to go to Yahoo to check emails.Tina Marquis

WEST TRAIL STUDY AREA MEETING TUESDAY, JULY 14, 2009
We would like to invite you to an open house for the West Trail Study Area (TSA) on Tuesday July 14th from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m., at the East Boulder Community Center, 5660 Sioux Drive. The purpose of the meeting is to introduce the planning processes for the western portion of the OSMP lands north of Eldorado Springs Drive, south of Linden Avenue and west of Broadway.
The purpose of the West TSA Plan is to provide management direction and describe the strategic actions that will protect natural and cultural resource, improve the visitor experience, and provide a physically and environmentally sustainable trail system in the West TSA. If you are interested in learning more about the West TSA planning efforts visit our website www.westtsa.org
The open house will begin with an opportunity to speak with OSMP staff informally about the Inventory and Sideboards Reports. This will be followed by presentations and feedback on the overall process design and timeline, and the Community Collaborative Group (CCG) selection process.
The CCG will be composed of community members representing a cross-section of interests that have a stake in the West TSA, including representatives from the recreation, conservation, and cultural resource communities, “at large” community members (neighborhood representatives and those not aligned with the other represented interests), and OSMP staff members.
The agenda for the meeting follows:
6:00 to 6:30 Poster session on the inventory reports
6:30 to 7:30 Presentation on the Sideboards (plan requirements), overall process design, and CCG selection process
7:30 to 8:30 Community Discussion
We appreciate your interest and look forward to seeing you there.
Sincerely,
Joe Mantione
Project Manager of the West TSA plan
